Recycled Batting

Has anyone tried the Dream Green batting that is recycled plastic bottles? What's your opinion? Thanks

Have never tried it, but I have used recycled yarn from plastic bottles. It is soft and cuddly, no shrinking. Hope this helps.

from what i've read, the regular polyester batt is recycled plastic bottles, and i've also read so is polar fleece. that's why it drys so fast.

Yes, I made a quilt with recycled men's shirts for a friend who is an avid recycler. I used the green batting to complete the theme. It was a bit thinner than W&N, and had very little loft. This was a couple years ago. I understand the quilt has been laundered several times and everything seems to be wearing well.
It sort of reminded me of a thicker craft felt rather than fleece.

I too am interested in this product. I did get a couple of small square samples of it to try out but haven't had the chance to do so yet. I did wonder how it would hand or machine quilt and whether it would stand up over time. Guess we will have to wait and see but in the meantime, it does seem like a nice, recycle product.

I've used it in several quilts and like it a lot. It is easy to quilt (machine) and drapes beautifully. It is a pale green color which shows through white fabric in the top. That, to me, is the only downside.

Wow, I've never heard of it but love the idea of recycling....... think I'll have another Perrier (in the green plastic bottle)
