My Dear Jane is ready for quilting.........

but I am not. I still have to hand quilt my Dresden and there are some other UFOs :-(
A major project kept me almost a year off the sewing machine and it is so great to be back. I started the DJ in Dezember 2011 and it was quite a journey. So far more than 600 hours went into it and it is rolled up on a pole right now and will have to wait. I was trying to come up with a different border but nothing else but the scallopes seamed right. Thats when I decided to frame it with the solid aubergine fabric. First I used printed fabric for the plain triangles and felt that they took too much away from the pieced triangles. I like the calming effect of the solid fabrics. I did not dare to spray baste it and hand basting was done the Sharon Shamber way. Hope you like it too. Granny |

It is awesome on so many levels. First of all, your color arrangement is very attractive. I agree with you about the solids calming the look. The work required on all those small blocks is amazing. Congratulations on finishing it to this point. I know you will be thrilled to get it quilted. It will be a masterpiece!
