Jennifer Chiaverini Books
I have a couple of Jennifer Chiaveri books that I picked up at a used book store. They are #2 and #9 of the ones she wrote. Do I need to read #1 before #2 to be able to follow the story or are they all independant of each other? I don't want to start reading #2 and then find out that in order to follow the story I should have read #1 first. Hope this all makes sense :) Thanks.

It's helpful to read the Elm Creek quilt books in order. I don't remember what numbers they are. I think the first one is called The Quilter's Apprentice. The others, Civil War and slavery era books, do not need to be read in order, IMHO.

They can be read independently but you really lose a lot of the ongoing story line.

I've only read the first one, The Quilters Apprentice but a couple people advised me to read in order.

Thanks for the information. I will find the first one and read them in order.

I read a few out of order and it was okay. I just think it would have been better to read in order. Check out your local library, mine had most of the first ones. It was only when I got higher up in the order that I had to purchase any.

Love all of Jennifer C's books, especially The Aloha Quilt. Never thought about Hawaiian applique, but it's definitely on my list.

They are better when read in order. I love her books. I didn't like the latest ones as much as did her older books. I wish she would start another series about quilters.

Any serial book is always better to be read in order. Would your local library have a copy of the first one??
