That awful moment when...
You realise that one of your white on white hexies has the fabric back to front. And naturally, I didn't realise until I was doing one of the very last bits of quilting! So cross with myself! And I know that noone else would even notice it, but I'll always know it's there!
There are 7 different white on whites in the quilt, but of course it had to be my favourite one that's back to front! |
I pay for both sides of my fabrics and tend to use both sides, sometimes in the same quilt. Don't think of this as an error, like you said, no one looking at the quilt will have any idea that one piece is not positioned exactly as you originally planned. It is just a (muted) version of another fabric you used.

white on white is the hardest one for me to get the 'right' side up on quilts... i've done that several times. in the end, it really didn't matter. try to let it go... i'm sure the quilt looks lovely just the same

I'm trying to see the positives, like at least it was a centre of a flower, and not one of the petals, so it's not glaringly obvious (otherwise I'd have noticed it before I did!)
I definitely still love the quilt, so it's not ruined by it. It would be hard for me to hate it, after all that work! I'll just have to make sure I'm more careful next time I use white on white! |
Tricky little fellows aren't they? Only you will know it's there.

I agree with Tartan. We are critics of our own work but someone else may never notice. ;)

I have done that so many times with white on white. I try and remember to lay the new piece of fabric on a dark background to check for the 'front' but don't always remember. No one notices it except me when the quilt is done.

Tone on tones are some of my favorite fabrics, so "Been there, done that". I bet it is still lovely.

White on whites are so hard to see the design on. You will always know it but no one else will probably notice it.
