got myself a handcrank!

I found this Singer Redeye/model 66 in a small second hand store in Edgemont, SD , just down from the Quilt store there "Nuts and Bolts". It was in a bentwood case I think someone had started to refinish. It had a motor that moved around into the harp space to put the top on. There was no foot pedal control with it and its missing the singer badge on the machine. Decals are alittle rough, but I was looking for a machine to put a hand crank on that I had bought through Sewclassic so it fit the bill for that. So I offered $20 and she took it! Now I have been putting danish oil on the bentwood case and have the HC on it. Doing my happy dance! Model # G9239577

Sweet! You did good. The case is worth at least that much.
You can find when it was made here: http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...-database.html Rodney |
What a bargain. I have one but without a case. Bought it as we were approaching 2000, just in case the naysayers were right and we might have power outages. I can use it at our WI property because we have no power there.

Wish we had bargains like that down here!

Good eye! That 20.00 got you just the right machine to set with that hand crank!
I'd like a hand crank too some day. |
I wanted one to have in the camper or to use this winter for pp if no electric! Maybe try to find a badge off a roached machine to put on it some day!

Nice score! I'm still looking for a great hand crank at a great price. I may just have to bite the bullet and pay the bucks. *groan*

the machine should clean up as nice as the wood did. that is a sweet machine! There is a seller on the auction site who sells good reproductions of the decals that went on the side of the case if you are interested.

Nice machine - the decals aren't that bad!! Great price! I am definitely on the hunt for an older hand crank but prices here for the early Singers are high so I am just waiting for the "right " one to come along :)
