cordless iron that works?

Friends, my other hobbies have all involved power tools. I can build a deck or garden box, trim hedges, mow, blow leaves; all with electric tools and all without cords tangling around me.

I rearranged my sewing area and now find myself in constant battle with the ironing cord which has become possesed with the attitude of an anaconda! I feel like I am Steve Irwin trying to press a seam! I am a beginner and not in position to spend over $100 on a tool that does not work.

But if there is one out there that works I would be willing to spend that amount. I am limited by outlet access in my sewing area so RE rearranging is not my favorite choice.

I bought a Panasonic cordless at Walmart, it was less than $70.00. I love it and love not having a cord! I have seen the same iron on the Internet, same model # for up to $150.00. Amazing! Try walmart. I have used this iron hundreds of times and it has never disappointed me.

I'm very interested in following this post as I hate my iron cord. I have threatened to hire someone to come put an outlet in at shoulder level. I'll sure check my Walmart to see if they have that one.

I use the Panasonic on my long arm when I need to.

Just for fun I did a search on Amazon and came up with a smartekST-2000N cord-cordless iron with some good reviews. It is only $29.99 on prime which means returns would be easy. It is cord or cordless. I think I'm going to order it for myself. I have prime so not much of a risk.

Wow, this is a new one on me. I didn't even know they made cordless irons.....and I'm not a youngester....I'm 65. Learn something new every day. I may have to order one.

I used one at a quilt shop, and it was great

How about a cord minder? It clips on your ironing board and holds the cord up out of the way. Mine is built into my board but they sell stand alone versions:

Do you have a link to it? I couldn't find it on Amazon.

Edit: Okay, I think I found it.
