Help Please

Howdy y'all :)

My home computer went on the blink about 3 years ago, but it was no big deal because I had my computer at work to save patterns and other quilting stuff that I liked. Plus, I used my iPhone to browse the web with. The first problem that came up was when my best friend gave me EQ7 for my birthday, and of course I couldn't install it at work. So I saved up and bought myself a refurbished laptop.

Then I retired. I was able to save all the patterns and such that I had onto CD-ROM, so that was no big deal. However... I've lost all of the links I had for free patterns, online quilting supplies, tutorials, and all of the blogs I was following. So would you kind people mind sharing some of your favorite sites with me so I can get some on my new (to me) computer? I would sure appreciate it! :D

it sounds like it may be too late now, but, if you still have access to your work computer, there's a way to transfer your bookmarks, depending on your browser. here's a general search using Google: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...o+new+computer

Bummer. I had a similar problem when I loaded my info onto a new refurbished Dell. I usually find most of my free patterns from fabric manufacture's sites such as Hoffman, Timeless Treasures and Robert Kaufman. Have fun!

One way to save everything. Get a gmail address. Using Chrome browser there is an extension called Send By Email. Anything link, or anything you can copy and past can be sent to your gmail account. You can archive it to save forever, Gmail doesn't delete archives. You can open your account on any online account anywhere. Also get Carbonite. It auto saves every picture or file. You can access those from any computer or install everyone on a new computer. Flash drives or cds to save files is not a good idea. They will corrupt with no notice.

Don't forget www.quilterscache.com, free patterns.com, McCalls quilting has free ones, Moda bakeshop, and you can google free patterns and see what comes up.
