The OSMG at singer yesterday showed me this he found in a drawer of a treadle. He doesn't know what it is, but I told him I would ask.
it has 2 wheels, one turns the other doesn't, you are only able to see one in the pic. the Hook like thing
sticking up is a cutter of some sort.
it has a number on the handle but even under magnification I could not make out the numbers. it did say made in USA, PATENT, other Patent.
he also had several FW but I could not buy according to my budget.

I agree, can opener. It probably works better than the junk they sell now.

Can opener was my first thought. Some pretty odd things ended up in those drawers.

WOW, I have some odds and ends stored in my treadle drawers. Wonder how it works.

can opener.... the triangular metal thing point goes on, just inside, the rim of the can then you push it down with your hand or as my Gram did with a small hammer. then you hold that handle and turn the other one. You need room because the hanble makes a big arch...DGD needs to step back.

I think it was in the sewing room because you could cut a thread by running it across the triangle and you did not have to pick up scissors.... as for string piecing

I agree it is an old can opener. My question is, why was it in a sewing cabinet? Interesting!

My first thought was "wicked".
