Border ideas - help!!

2 Attachment(s)
Just finished piecing this top for my bed - a double Irish chain and now I need some ideas for borders. Still need to add approximately 10" to each side to get to the size I'm looking for (110" x 110"). Your input and suggestions are much appreciated.

Maybe white then a bit of the floral then white and bind in the green. Gorgeous so far....so whatever you choose will be beautiful.

I would probably do a border of the green, then the floral fabric, then white, then floral and then the green using the green as the binding too.

Here's a link to the Irish chain album here, maybe one of the borders might appeal to you? http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...bums16944.html

I always lay my quilt out on the bed.....the edges on the bed. Then lay down the borders in a way you may want. Kinda like doing a test run without sewing. Sometimes I experiment with a 1" border, then a 4". Then i decide that looks wrong and I try 2" and 3"...... Whatever way you do it, I'd say at least 2 borders. I'd start with white then the floral. The white will "set the border apart" from the rest.....kinda frame the main quilt. Then after the floral, bind with the green. :) :) It's a beautiful quilt.

Very pretty quilt, and really like the bed you have it on.

how about floral, small amount of white then the green as a framer. beautiful however.

How about a narrow white stop border and then 4 or 9 patches like those in the top and then another narrow white border.

I really like the Harlequin border that is shown on several of the quilts in the gallery. You might check out the quilterscache border site (which includes instructions): http://www.quilterscache.com/B/Borders.html

Your quilt is very pretty, and I hope you will share pictures when it is finished.
