Stuck on one thing...

Do you ever find yourself stuck on doing one task? Lately (about a month now) I have been stuck on sewing small pieces of fabric scraps together until I have large pieces. Then I cut from those. I have done enough squares for a small lap quilt (haven't put it together yet), a round table topper with 8 matching place mats, and now just sewing scrap pieces together with no plan in mind....just want to keep sewing scrap pieces together! I have so many other projects to finish, but this just 'calls' to me! What's up?:confused::confused:

Yes, that is my stress breaker......nothing planned, just grab scraps, sew together....for me the monotony of the needle going up/down sort of slows my brain down and calms me....and when I have a stack of colorful squares with no planned design...I feel satisfied...sort of controlling the chaos life sometimes throws at one......I can then walk away and be happy----that's just me

It seems to be more productive than playing solitaire!

I am currently cutting scraps and sewing a scrap pattern into blocks. It's a no brainier and I find it very relaxing.

I agree - I had to break my addiction to sewing scraps to calculator paper!! :p Started it while healing from hand surgery ---- it was so relaxing and so rewarding seeing those strips pile up....but i had other projects i wanted to work on so had to stop. I'll be back to it for sure the next time i need a calming therapy break.

I am stuck on scrap quilts, mainly strings, because I have tons of scraps (lucky they are my favorite type of quilt) and limited budget for new yardage.

I rotate between projects. If I want to piece, that is what I do and if I feel like quilting, then I do that. It is much more enjoyable to do what you feel like doing. No deadlines for me anymore.

Yes, I am stuck working on tiny pieces also. There is something relaxing about not having to think about it, just sew.
