White on white
I know I can use both sides of the fabric if I wish. However, just curious...
which side do you usually use? The printed side or the other side? I have 3 white of white fabrics and when I look at them I prefer the non-printed side on all of them. Is that supposed to be the right side on white on white? |
No side is the wrong side if it pleases you. I turn over the white on white fabric if I feel the printed side is overpowering.

My daughter says that her sewing machine doesn't like white on white fabric - it is too "sticky".

Either the front or the back is fine but be consistent.

I would only use the printed side for the right side. I agree, it is very hard to hand quilt through also.

I use printed (I should say "painted", because that's what it is, white paint. Ugh!) side out. I hate that stuff. Wish we had old fashioned white on whites with no paint.

Sometimes when doing a scrappy quilt I accidentally sew one of the patches with wrong side showing. I just leave it. After all, it's a scrappy quilt. That being said , all the suggestions above are good ones.

I made a boo-boo on this quilt & did one of the appliqués on the reverse side of white on white raised polka dot fabric. But I did 2 more & ran them down the center column & it was adorable. Baby loved the different textures. :)

I have a love hate relationship with white on white fabric. hate the painted side, but love the look.
