IKEA Finurlig swatches
I received a couple of bundles of fabric squares, they are like a fat jelly roll of 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" for my birthday. The tag says 100% cotton, but the fabric is a bit thicker like maybe a canvas. Has anyone ever bought these and used them? I was thinking a rag quilt .... thought I would ask if anyone else had used them and washed the finished project.

It is probably decorator weight, like used for upholstery and drapes. You can use it and it will wear like iron, but the heaviness adds a lot of bulk in the seams. Would make a perfect picnic/fort quilt

I'm wondering if it would be comfortable as a throw? The ad suggests cushions and bags.

I'll keep a look out for this, we are finally getting an Ikea in my home town :)

I haven't been in Ikea for a long time, not one nearby. I would think they would make better bags, purses and wallets than a quilt. Just my opinion.

I bought a couple packs and am making bags for groceries etc. with them. Know that they are not precisely cut. They are off.

I'll add these to my to-do pile :) |
I have a few bundles too. They are more like a canvas - as mentioned above. If I were to use them in a quilt it would be a utility type (i.e. picnic). I bought them to make patchwork pet beds for my crew of cats. : )

I made a quilt from a Dala Horse Ikea remnant and sashed the squares with another drapery fabric, then tied it. Seems fine.
