Janome 7700 dual feed help

Hello Ladies, I hope you can help me. I am preparing to zig zag minky or cuddle with my dual feed walking foot. I used the utility setting #9 stitch. However, I can not get the stitching to zig zag with the walking foot. Could anyone with the Janome 7700 tell me how to set the needle to zig zag instead of straight stitch? I read the book to no avail.

What needle position and stitch width do you have selected?

I tried to move my needle position. It did not move. I selected a wider stitch for minky.

How does it do with this setting on regular cotton fabric? I'm wondering if the pile of the minkee fabric is so deep it's not engaging the walking foot

The dual feed device can only be used for straight stitches D1, D2, D3, D4, D1S, D2S, and D3S. Page 38 of the manual.

Thank you ladies so much. You all are so helpful. I did go to the manual page 38 and tried the D1, D2, and like you said; it only did the straight stitch. So now I don't know whether to use the dual feed device on a straight stitch with minky or use the usual foot with a zig zag stitch. Wow, how do I get into these situations? LOL

I don't think so. I use non-straight stitches with my dual feed foot.

Do you have the Janome 7700 Horizon? Have you zigzagged with the dual feed foot? If so what settings do you use? I appreciate any and all advice. You ladies rock!

Thank you for the input. I can not zigzag with the cotton fabric either.

The walking foot can be used to zig zag as I do it all the time. The walking foot must not be on correctly. You need to bring the part in the back b behind the needle under your walking foot.
