any oval table cloth top patterns
I`ve always hated my purchased top next year I`making a new one!
Are there any patterns. I googled but didn't find any. Want something to cover whole table. Thanks Gale |
Since the radius of every oval table is a bit different, I think you may have to draft your own. I would pick one of my favorite blocks and set them on point on point, with a wide border. Then I would cut the border to follow the curve of the table. If you do applique, you could put applique in the border.

Right on with the suggestion! I made one similar to that. I cut my rectangle of the bottom fabric first to the size that I wanted it, and curved the edge. Then figured out how big I wanted the smaller insert, then also curved that edge. I stitched the center piece on. I cut 2-1/5 strips on the bias, folded them in half and put the raw edge of the binding on the raw edge of the top fabric. Ironed it over so the stitching was covered, and top stitched it down. It looks like a lot of work, but it was very easy to do.

Thanks Gale My biggest concern would be what fabric to use, as I would hate to have to iron an appliquéd cotton one each time it was used over the holdiays. Google does give some ideas though if you decide to go that route. try googling "appliquéd christmas oval tablecloths " |
