Merry Mayhem's New Year's Day Mystery
As usual, Merry Mayhem will have a free one day quilt mystery on New Year's Day. The fabric requirements are posted now. If you sign up for the newsletter, you'll get the first clue so you can get an early start. I've done these in the past and always enjoyed them.

Thanks! I keep forgetting about these.

I think I can fit this in this year... especially now that we are getting a little bit of snow and I would like to stay home and just want to chill out after a busy Christmas holiday. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the heads up. I participated in the last two, so probably will this year as well.

Janet Wickell of all about quilts also has a New Years Day mystery. Not doing it this year but I did it last year. She keeps it posted for months. She also has lots of free patterns'

Thanks! I like to follow along even if I don't actually do them. Lol!

I had fabric picked out but hadn't started cutting yet when I changed my mind. I have to choose something else this evening so I can do my cutting tomorrow and do the first sewing installment on Thursday. I like Merry May's because they're not too complicated. If I'm doing something on a short time frame, I want to keep it down to 3 or 4 fabrics with fairly simple cutting and sewing. This one looks good - a medium, a dark and a background. My kind of mystery!

Thanks for the post. Not like I need any extra projects but this sounds like fun! Signed up and will get myself home and ready for a scrappy version of this year's New Year's Day mystery quilt.

Thanks for sharing this link. Not sure I'm up to Bonnie Hunter's mystery this year, even though I am printing out all the clues. This just might be a better option. Plus the scrappy version will help me decrease my stash in am even more scrappy way than Bonnie's which has more controlled colors. I hope y'all will post pictures.
