scrap flannel fabric.. what to do?
What would you do with scraps of flannel fabric, most of it is baby prints, do I just sew pieces of them together and make a scrappy quilt... do you think this would look ok, there are so many different prints and colors and some don't look like the colors would go together...
in a scrappy quilt does color matter? |
Do you have enough to make a rag quilt? The rag would separate the different colours.

If you sash the blocks using one fabric, it ties everything together.

Oh I never thought of a rag quilt, Thanks

annaquilts collects premie quilts. you can make them as small as 15" sq. look under donations at the bottom of the main page. I've sent her several, I have some waiting to go to her. It's a great cause. sometimes, sadly, this is the only reminder of the precious babies.

Another thing you can do with flannel scraps, is make burp rags, if you have a need for those or know someone who does. I use leftover flannel scraps and batting scraps to make burp rags. Several of them will make a nice gift for someone who has just had a baby.

make a coin quilt. colors don't have to match, and a sash in between each column of 'coins' makes it work. Babies will love it. They don't have our 'rules' about what goes together!
