Hi! from the outskirts of Atlanta, GA

Hello all,
I'm new here, new to quilting, new to sewing in general, and new to antique/vintage sewing machines. Heck, I'm new to all of this! My aunt has been quilting all of her life, so when I called her this past Thanksgiving, I asked her to make me a quilt. Yep, that's all it took. Since Dec 13, 2015, I got my husband's 1933 Singer 15-90 unstuck and working, and since then we have acquired about 11 more machines. So here I am, not knowing anything (lol) and soaking up all the goodness this forum has to offer :). The couple of quilt projects I've started have turned out well, but I'm having trouble with the "quilting" part. I'm here to learn, and to share experiences. I am so blessed to have stumbled across this site, and am looking forward to meeting you all.
If there's anything I can help with, just let me know. I hope to contribute whatever I can :)

Thanks for having me,
Carol

Hi Carol - my son use to live in Dacula, he's near Monroe now. Great area to be for collecting vintage machines. When DH and I go to visit, we spend quite a bit of time checking out the antique/thrift shops down there.

Is that 1933 15-90 a "Silver" version? Singer stopped making them like that in early 1933, and then went to the black stitch plate.

Hope to see you (and pictures of machines ) over on the Vintage Machine subforum.

Hey Cathy! I put the wrong model #, it's a 15-91 with the potted motor. And it's just the plain Jane. Shoot, I wish I had the silver one! Yes, Monroe has about 5-6 Antique Mall's, we stopped in 3 the last 2 weekends... came home with 4 machines! One is a 1910 model 44 but it's black with the original Gingerbread leafing. It's pretty cool the kinda machines one can run across down here. But at a price... they're really proud of these machines! Come with deep pockets! lol
Nice to meet you, hope to see you around!
(gotta figure out how to edit my previous post to change model # to 15-91)
