YLI silk thread numbers Joann's
 

Just found out this silk thread is sold at Joann's, but only online. I have not been able to match their numbers to my #242. Has anyone here been able to or found a chart that matches manufacturer numbers? Thank you!!

The beauty of silk thread is you don't have to match exact, only come close. It sinks down into the fabric and chameleons with whatever fabric it is on. I have found that 99% of the applique I do using silk thread is done with only 5 colors. I use this:

They have color 242 which they call "Pinky brown"

Have you checked the YLI website to see if they may have changed the color numbers or no long make that color?? I have been told that Mettler silk finished have changed some of their numbers.

click into feline fanatic's connecting thread link.......#242 is there and called Light Taupe. But I agree, Silk only has to be close, not exact.

Too funny (not!) I've now found #242 to be taupe brown, taupe, and pinky brown. Lol

Has anyone here bought YLI thread at Joann's that matches their #242? thanks!
