Need Comments - Good & Bad - Bernina 880

This looks like a dream machine and I can only find one review online which was not positive. If anyone has any input I would so appreciate your comments.

This is a major purchase for me. My husband says to spend money because the kids don't need it. Still it's a big step for me.

Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry, I can't help you so I'll just wait for reviews with you.

If you type Bernina 880 in the QB search box some posts may come up. I think there were problems when they first came out but they are supposed to be fixed now?

I don't have this machine. Sewing Pattern Review is a website that has forums and review of machines by the users. I found your 880 review. It is older than 6 months so you will have to join to read, but it is free membership. Worth being a member just to read the review, in my opinion. By the way, this user reviewed when she first got it, and and then updated it after she had it for a while . Her latest update was early May 2017.

I went with the 770, because I have the 830 and have not had problems with it. My 830 embroidery module will fit on my 770 for when I do want to use it for embroidery. My focus is more on quilting. If you are going to enjoy working on embroidery and other types of sewing too, than this would be a great machine for you. If more on piecing and quilting check out the 7 series too. Good luck. I agree with your hubby, don't feel compelled to leave it all to your kids.

Sorry, I know nothing about the 880. I love my 1530, such a reliable work horse!

The main thing is to trust your dealer. Once bought the dealer is not going to return a penny and after the warranty you will pay hundreds to get any problem fixed, your fault or not.

I've had a 1630 and an Artista 180 and loved both of them. I still use the Artista for all my garment construction.

Here is one. I like her reviews and at the end she lets you know what fabrics the machines are capable of sewing. http://www.sewinginsight.com/bernina...na-880-review/

Thank you for all the replies. With your help I found some solid feedback.

I'm taking the plunge and hope my kids stay secure!
