Quilting onto fusible fleece?
 

Thinking of applying the fusible to top of tablerunner, put onto l/a to quilt. I don't know what I bought this fusible fleece for ( long time ago!). Has anyone used it instead of batting? Concerned about the fusible...will it gum up needle...don't need that hassle! Thanks....

I've sewn a few bags using fusible fleece, and it went fine - no gumming up the needle, no problems.

Thanks....now, how do you iron to the tablerunner? It is 10" wide, pointed at bothends <___>. My thought, cut a bit wider, square ends, use the Teflon sheet on top, iron, then trim to exact shape...am I thinking right?

That will work. Be careful about your heat setting. The fusible fleece will not take as high a heat setting as your cotton fabric. I use fusible fleece for most of my art quilts/ wall hangings and it works great, no gummy neeedles, quilts very easily. If your fusible fleece is only fusible on one side then I recommend fusing that side to your backing and then pin basting (or using whatever basting method you prefer) your top to the sandwich.

The way I would do it is to fuse it to the backing fabric, then pin or spray baste the top on. What you describe would certainly work, though... just have to be more careful about not gumming up your iron.
