stand mixer
Is there a stand mixer that equals Kitchenaid? I'm looking for same quality for less dollars.
How about Hamilton Beach? Anyone have one? Do you know of a extra good price for Kitchenaid somewhere? |
I have a kitchen aid that I have had for many years. It is the mixer, blender, shredder, slicer, grinder, pasta maker....all various attachments....I have done so much with it over the years ...... Ground and stuffed sausage...made spaghetti, still make my own breadcrumbs as needed, of course mixer for baking, blender for smoothies...on and on. It was one of the best investments we made...mine is now over 20 yrs old...so it does have a long life...so pays for itself...may not use all the attachment often, but when I need them, they are there! I think cuisinart has something similar.

I have a 5 qt Hobart (N50). It uses all the kitchen aid attachments but it is more heavy duty. I got a used one about 40 yrs ago to go with the wheat grinder my husband made. I needed extra duty to make/knead wheat bread without taxing the motor. It is so important in our kitchen that Dad got both daughters a new one for their wedding gift. My youngest had hers whirling mashed potatoes when we arrived for thanksgiving dinner. My old one is still chugging and DH painted it so I would not be jealous of my girls. He painted it to match his tractor.

I have had a kitchen aid for about 20 years & I think it is well worth the money, although I do not have attachments,
just the regular hook, dough hook & one for whipping cream. |
i am looking for a reasonable mixer too. I'm tired of using it on a cake and having to get a new one every time. I just can't part with that type of money noe. I'll be watching this thread.

There are good sales, if you watch for them. I have the Artisan model and it's powerful enough for me. In our area, Ace Hardware has 20 per cent off all regular priced items one day per month and that day is first Tues of the month, so no better time to buy. (Grills are 10 per cent discount). (Walgreens is same day, same discount, but no mixers there) Shopko is next day but 15 per cent off. Watch Kohl's, I got an attachment on a special sale. I mix 3 lbs of meat loaf in my KA, also 3 lbs ground beef for meatballs and freeze them. I think KA is worth the money!

Spend the money and buy a Kitchenaid. Mine is one of the lower priced models and I have had it for over 20 years. There are two things I wish I had bought early in my life - my Kitchenaid mixer and my electric knife sharpener. They both have a home out on my kitchen counter where I reach for them often.
