Schmetz sewing machine needles
Do these needles fit most machines? Thank You
I have used them, they have universal ones. I prefer Organ needles myself. I tried the Schmetz brand when Nancy's notions sends me a free one with an order.
They work just fine in my Pfaffs. They have many types and sizes of needles. I think they are good quality.
I started using Schmetz needles when I bought a Viking machine over 35 years ago...I wore that machine out and still use them in my Bernina...it is a high quality needle.
Have used them for about 40 years...high quality, and have always been totally satisfied.
My local family shop that sells berninas, and elnas for 30 plus years, only sells these needles. They trust them, so do I.
I have no issues with them in either my computerized Viking or my FW. It's the brand my dealer sells and they sell many different brand machines so I would think they are pretty universal for machines. Getting into relatively obscure vintage machines might be a different issue though.
I've used them in both of my Bernina's and also in my 301 and my Rocketeer with no problems at all.
I think that they're great. I use them in my Berninas, my featherweight, my Janome, and even my Pfaff Grandquilter. They have a wide selection of types of needles and you can get them on sale at JoAnn's. I do not use my machines for embroidery. If I did, I would probably use the Organ needles or titanium needles.
I prefer Organ Titanium coated needles but have used Schmetz. I think I remember reading Schmetz manufacturing had changed and the needles are made differently now. The length of the needles has changed causing problems with many machines.
