Baby quilt colors
What are the current popular colors for gender neutral baby quilts? I always like buttercream, mint green, lavender but I'm sure there is a real "in" color now - any suggestions.

You can't go wrong with the primary colours, red, blue and yellow. You could also use gray with lime green or gray with yellow or gray with orange.

I'm not much for "in" colors. I make what I like. Usually blue and brown for a boy, and pink with white or other pastels for a girl.

My DD asked for gray and lime, particularly graphic prints. Classic baby prints (pastel bunnies for example) seem to be definitely out of style.

Gray is very much 'in' for baby items. And it pairs well with pink, yellow, aqua, blue, etc.

I don't know what the new "in" color for babies. It is just usually dictated by the parents and how they decorate. When I was into crocheting I made a baby blanket using bright primary and secondary colors because that was the way the were preparing for the baby. Now I usually do I Spy quilts for babies or Trip Around the World using bright colors.

Unless you are making one to go with the nursery, I would go with primary colors with black and white or story theme quilts because babies and toddlers need floor, couch, chair, car quilts. My DGD uses the Hungry Caterpillar quilt I made her for her living room floor quilt. She loves it, but it doesn't go with her gray, aqua seafoam, and soft white nursery. Her other grandma and great aunt made quilts in those colors.

It depends on the market. Higher end clients tend to prefer more muted themes: greys, grey-beiges, pale pink, blue-grey, white, or cream. Middle class clients might like more colors. Pink & green are often popular for girls. Blue & beige or grey are still popular for boys, along with pops of color, fun appliques or prints, and so forth.

My kids like grey with a color pop for their children's baby quilts. They also like rainbow colored or I Spy Quilts.

I just make whatever I think the parents would like. Pink and grey for baby girls is very trendy, I see quite a bit of red and grey for boys. My last sweet of baby blankets I made for a dear friend, I did Dr Who, Steelers, Batman, and some jungle animals that I fell in love with. Also had a cute donut print and she loves donuts so I made a donut blanket. She and her hubby liked all of them, they seem to be getting heavy use.
