Bobbin thread

What do use for bobbin thread when piecing?

Same thing as I use for top thread.

Bottom line from Superior Threads, or what ever I have handy. ( often Aurifil or cotton thread from Connecting Threads)

I use Precencia 60 weight for piecing and the same in the bobbin. You don't know which way you are going to press the seam when you sew the patch, so I like the thin thread on both sides.

I use whatever I have. Right now its a YLI thread which I think might be 50wt. Came with my quilt machine. I use bottom line in my embroidery machine when embroidering as its 60wt. Machine didn't care for NEB's bobbin thread so keeping them for the other machine that don't seem to care what I put in them.

I use what I have on hand which is C &C. Coats and Clark.

I try using same as top thread when piecing. I find it easier to "pick apart" mistakes when I have same bobbin thread. During FMQ I use Bottom Line, because the bobbin lasts a whole lot longer. And then I hope no "reverse sewing" will be needed!!

Same as the top thread which is usually Aurifil.

Bottom Line. Fewer bobbin changes and my piecing is more accurate. (I like paper piecing, miniatures, and complicated tops.)
