Wilmington Fabrics "To The Moon and Back"

I just finished this quilt a couple of days ago. It is for a cousin's baby shower. I quilted it on my DM with Invisafil thread. It is a very, very fine polyester thread with a sheen to it. It does pretty much disappear if it matches the color of the quilt. However, now I am concerned that the threads will melt if she drys it in a hot dryer. I did send a "care" label with it and cautioned her not to dry it in a hot dryer but with a new baby and a ton of work to do, well, you know, it could happen. Just have to let it go and hope for the best. Probably won't use this thread on a quilt in the future. (It is beautiful! The thread, that is.) Yolanda

Very creative and adorable! Who knows, the thread might hold up better than you fear.

You are right to be concerned. I have a quilt, made with invisible threat, which has been washed and dried several times and the thread is coming apart.

The quilt is adorable. All you can do is send that care label with the quilt and let your cousin enjoy the quilt.

Your quilt is really cute and the colors so nice for a little one. Please be sure to include complete laundering and drying instructions and don't leave it to chance. I wonder about the information that is available for the thread you used. There have been so many improvements in polyester or polyester based threads. I used to not be a fan of them, but I am changing my mind about some of the applications. Check it out.

Cute quilt! Make yourself a sample with the thread and wash and dry the heck out of it. If it launders well, it will put your mind at rest.

Would it be possible to do some straight quilt stitching in some parts to hold it together should your fears happen - that way the 3 layers will be held together.

Pretty quilt.
