New Howard treadle

Hi, I'm a new member, and have a tough question. I was given a New Howard treadle sewing machine, and can't find any info on this brand. I love my Bernina and my featherweight, but have always wanted a treadle like my mom used. My husband is going to refinish the the wood cabinet. I hope I can restore it to working order. If anybody has some thoughts about this machine, I would appreciate it very much.

I think they were badged Howard and New Howard for Sear Roebuck and sons.

I found this on:
http://ismacs.net/sears/sears.html

It is towards the bottom of the page with a picture of the machine. I couldn't find a New Howard.
The "Howard" was a badged version of the National Model Vindex B vibrating shuttle
sewing machine
from the early 1900s

Even if Sears sold it, you still need to find out who manufactured it. it's usually very easy to tell what it is from a picture.
