How do I quilt Thinking Outside the Box
1 Attachment(s)
Next week I will be home and hopefully my Ruby Deluxe will be back from the factory. I plan on quilting this on it and would like suggestions on how I should quilt it. I'm not sure if ITD would be sufficient or if an all over stippling would be better. Also, what color thread do you think would look best. Thanks for your input.

i think an all over meander would be fine because the pattern is bold enough to hold its own

Lovely top! SITD following the pattern would work and you could do the dark borders and then stitch a few of the lines inside the boxes to meet the batting requirements. Also meandering would work.

Connecting spirals, maybe? I love your quilt. Beautiful color play.

I think if it were mine I would quilt that one in a large 'starburst' kind of pattern - straight-line quilting radiating outwards from the center with some echoed "v" shapes where the rays get too wide for the batting.
It's a beautiful quilt!! No matter how you quilt it, it's going to be lovely. :) |
Wow, that's gorgeous!!!

I'm not a fan of meandering, but an all-over of some other design would be fine - maybe paisleys or flower swirls. I also like feathers. However you do it, it's a beautiful quilt.

Very pretty.
I have that pattern, haven't made it yet. If and when I do I will quilt it with a large meander, FMQ or large stipple as that is how I quilt most of my quilts. |
To decide on the thread color, make a little sandwich with the fabrics in the quilt and then audition your selections. I always want to see what it looks like when it's stitched, not just laying on the top.
