Hi! Over this past summer I had a bunch of free time and decided to try and make a t-shirt quilt for my boyfriend has a gift. I borrowed my mom's 30-year-old sewing machine and became hooked! I've recently gotten a Brother cs6000i for my birthday and am working on creating my own quilting and sewing space. Don't really know many other people who quilt or sew so always looking for helpful tips and other people who enjoy the same thing.

Welcome from South Louisiana. This board is so inspirational and has such good folks on it. YouTube is your friend for quilting tutorials galore. If you need help or are questioning something, please add a picture so we will know the specifics of what you need. And last of all.....enjoy your piecing and quilting. One more thing. My dear departed MIL had a saying which is so appropriate.....What you sew, so shall you rip. Jack the ripper will be one of your best friends. Sometimes Jack & I spend more time together than me and the sewing machine. "smile"

Welcome from Tennessee. Don't you have a big quilt show up there in Madison in September? Check it out it will be great inspiration and you will find plenty of quilters there. Might even find some in your area.

I'm in my 30s, so a bit older, but I learned to quilt by visiting the Senior Center and the "quilt ladies" there. There is a world of knowledge in that group (our oldest is almost 101 years old!) I'm definitely the youngest, but they are a great group and so funny! One of them led me to this board.

I learn a combination of ways, so also check out youtube, but having someone right there when I have questions is priceless.
