Fix for piecing on Featherweight card table
1 Attachment(s)
I use my Featherweight a lot for piecing and there is a gap between the table and the machine when it sits in the machine well. Sometimes fabric would hang up a bit so I was using a small cutting mat to cover the gap in front but things still would hang up behind the machine. I remembered that I had some leftover pieces from the Magic Carpet sled that I bought for fmq so I taped them down in front and behind the machine. It is not pretty, but when chain piecing, everything slides so much nicer now.

I agree, and who cares what it looks like, right?
I love piecing on my FW as well. Love the sound of it. |
Good idea. Do I spy your Ringo Lake start?

There's always a way to improvise. Great job!

Whatever makes it easier to do something is okay.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get out my featherweight, give it a good oiling, and start using it again. I have one of the featherweight card tables like yours, but I haven't used it lately. I'll have to see if I have the same problem with the gaps between machine and table.

Good idea. I got the sled too and like it much better than the sliders or oven mats
