Photo Transfer for fabric

I am making my husband a library quilt and would like to know what photo transfer method or product makes a soft, well colored photo on fabric.

This is a good article about printing on fabric:

Typically, you want to use an inkjet printer that uses a pigment-based dye, as described in the article. I found that the inks I buy for our Brother printers are pigment-based (looked on Amazon for this information). As for the fabric, the only one I found that was mentioned in the above article is sold by EQ:

JoAnn also sells a decent photo fabric....it's a little spendy but almost never on saler, so able to use a coupon on it.

I just finished a memory quilt using picture transfer....and I used Printed Treasures...as I recall they were not inexpensive but they work well enough with my Brother printer and they sew well......even when I had to seam rip a few and resew, they held up well.....don't know how they'll hold up in the wash (and this quilt is a Christmas present so won't know for awhile. I used 4.5" blocks so was able to get two pics on a sheet.......they're 8.5 x 11 so you could go up to 5" squares or 5 x 7 rectangles and get two per sheet....
