Baking dinner buns
Used to bake dinner buns from scratch but I’ve crossed over to the frozen kind & never going back ! I grease up my trusty cast iron fry pan and arrange a dozen frozen dinner buns in it. Cover tight with a dish towel & refrigerate. They will be unthawed in the a.m. so set them in a warm place to raise then bake. Family loves them. Also bake a dozen “Texas size” in a greased 9x13 pan, using the overnight method. Better & cheaper than package buns.

I used to do frozen bread this way. Good idea for the buns. Is there a favorite brand you use? I'm thinking this would be good to do just a few at a time and use my toaster oven in the morning.

Rhodes Texas Size. I use store brand for little dinner buns since they’re often 99cents/dozen on sale. They always get a “butter rub” right out of the oven & look amazing. Just as good (I think) as the specialty bakery who gets $6.99 for 6 freshly baked buns. (Really ?). I gotta have that money for fabric !

You are all making me so jealous! I can't eat this stuff anymore, but I would love to! But this is a good idea for Thanksgiving and Christmas, or Easter, or 4th of July, or...

I make this all the time, only way to go on a busy holiday, and we enjoy them for any dinner

I have made homemade rolls ever since I found the recipe online for THROWED ROLLS from Lambert's in Sikeston ,Missouri or the Lambert's in Gulf Shores. My kids love them and I love making them...really enjoy the smell of fresh bread baking..
