Hello from Long Island, The Bahamas
 

Hi! My name is Katie, I'm 33 years old living in Long Island Bahamas. After several years away from this wonderful group, I decided I would again rejoin. I have been sewing, quilting and crafting for almost 20 years.

Back in May as an early birthday/Christmas present to myself, I wound up getting a Juki TL2010Q machine along with a Grace Q-Zone Quilt Frame. On and off over the summer, I have done some of the quilting on a couple of the quilt projects that I have finished.
My current project that I have been working on is a quilt top from the Christmas Wreath Class by Julia Quiltoff.

Hi Katie, When I saw Long Island I was thinking NY. But I see you are in the Bahamas. Tell us about your experience during the recent hurricane. Hope you are in the southern part of the Bahamas that didn't get hit badly. Welcome back! Sally

Welcome back to the boards. What a beautiful place to be quilting, I'm sure the islands express themselves in many ways -- growing up in Alaska, I have fabrics selected that will be for a "snowflake" sampler, don't think that idea would have come up with a warmer childhood!

I've been to your beautiful island on two occasions. Some of the best fishing my husband and I have ever done and for me, the very best fishing guide ever. Lovely island, lovely people.
