Number of Blocks Needed

I'm no good at math and I'm making a KS quilt for my daughter. The pattern is for a QS. I enlarged the blocks now I need to know how many I need. I'm setting the blocks on point with a 2" sashing. The blocks are 13" finished. TIA for any help.

This is a link to the pattern. https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/275071489715672934/

Just curious...what does KS stand for. Is it Kid Size? I know in your mind that you think you have made your need very clear, however.....It's hard to determine how big a quilt you want based on your comments. Is your daughter a teenager and needs a twin size full bed quilt or perhaps a Full size bed or do you want a smaller lap/throw quilt? If you measured the finished size you want, what would it be? What size borders do you plan to use?

Edited to add: When I have questions like this and the block is a simple one. I make a few and see how big it gets and how quick. Then I can estimate how many how I will need.

Can you draw it out on graph or plain paper? This is what I do when I want to know how big the quilt will be. I am sure you will get some great ideas or advice from everyone on this board.

King size, approximately 110 x 106. It's a simple nine patch but the on point setting is confusing me.

I know how big I want it but the on point setting has me confused. The size is 110x106 approximately.

Have you made any of the blocks? 13" is a really odd size that isn't going to translate well to being divided in thirds for a ninepatch. Did you mean to type 12"?

The block is 13" finished. The individual blocks in the 9 patch are 4-1/2"

If the individual blocks finish at 4 1/2, then the finished block size is 13 1/2. However if they individual blocks are 4 1/2 unfinished, then the finished block size is 12.

They finish as 4-1/2".

You can't get the size you say you want at those dimensions. I just plugged your dimensions into EQ8. A 5x5 layout is 109.6 inches square before borders. A 4x5 layout is 87.6 inches by 109.6 inches.

For a 5x5 layout, you need 41 blocks. For a 4x5 layout, you need 32.
