Another Michigan Pixel Quilt
As a celebration of getting a new to me midarm machine, I wanted to make a quilt. Practicing on plain fabric is helpful and all, but it can be quite boring. I decided to finish the Michigan quilt I had started as a way to force myself to use the machine and try to become familiar with it. I have made this quilt before using different fabric. This time I used a line called "Freya and Friends" by Janet Clare. I really loved the art work and color scheme. The contrast works really well for this pattern too.
The quilting is just a loopy squiggle I knew I could accomplish and not ruin the quilt with scary wobbly patterns. Overall, I am super happy with it. Don't tell my other quilts, but I think this one is my favorite! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ecbbf5cd_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0337bc47_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...50ed655d_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...15756b58_c.jpg |
Very nice! I’ve never seen a Michigan quilt before - very cool idea! Nice fabric choices too!

What a great quilt, and what a great shape the state of Michigan has. Minnesota wouldn't be as interesting, but it would be better than Wyoming or Colorado, I guess. LOL You did a lovely job. Is the heart for Ann Arbor?

Oh my goodness! I'm a lifelong Michigander and this is great!
Off to buy the pattern... https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png |
From a neighboring state, I love your quilt. I assume the heart represents "Home is where the heart is". Congratulations on your first quilt on your mid-arm. I've had mine for almost 5 years and still hesitate before diving in. You will love it.
