mini-mosaic quilts (Cheryl Lynch)

I'm trying my hand at new things this year, this is my first effort at mosaic style, a Cheryl Lynch pattern for dragonfly.Took an hour to cut the bits and 30 minutes to apply the cat-tail stems to the steam-a-seam. Fun! A small vacation project
anyone else done some of these that would like to share? |
WOW!! Looks really good so far, but all those small pieces take a lot of patience.

It looks wonderful already. Have fun with it, and be sure to show us the finished project. Good luck!

I've done the bird on a branch and the queen bee mosaic. I found I was directionally challenged with cutting the angles. Once I found a method that worked for the direction issue, it was fun. I think I'm over doing mosaics but I've said the same with other things only to do them again years down the road.

You have a lot more patience than I do that's for sure! But will admitt that it is fun to try something new once in a while. Smart idea to use an ice tray to hold all those tiny pieces.

Looks lovely!

looks like about 2.5 hours to this point, just the background left to mosaic. I may Sharpie those eyes :)
Lena, working with batiks, when I cut the wrong angle I can just turn it over and it's right! |
love seeing your progress!

Very pretty! The seaglass quilts work this way as well, fun, pretty and quick to complete...this is the workshop we did in our local guild:
