Solar Eclipse
We have our viewing glasses ready. Corpus Christi is getting geared up for the eclipse on Saturday. Lots of visitors expected! Officials said that they are treating it like Spring Break! News said to watch starting at around 10:30 AM.

My part of Michigan is ready ........... for another day of clouds and rain. We need the rain, so I guess we will pass on the solar event.
|
We are ready in Idaho!
|
Didn't know about an eclipse Sat. There is a big one in 24 isn't it?
|
I was so excited about this event. But, as per usual here in Central Oregon it will be a no-show. Why? because of cloud cover, every time there is a major celestial event such as a meteor shower, solar eclipse (I was able to see one quite a few years back), lunar eclipse, super moon, or even stars and planets lining up. We have cloud cover!...lol

My viewing glasses have 2 dates printed for viewing events. October 15, 2023 and April 8, 2024.
|
Oops. Make that date October 14 for Saturday.

Corpus had 66% cloud coverage. This pic was captured when clouds thinned out enough to see with naked eye. Eventually, they thinned enough to use the special glassed. Ring of Fire was very cool!
I was still caring for Mom when DD called and said she could see "a bite out of the sun". She was closer to the coast, and I think less cloud coverage. And she thanked me for the glasses. |
Google news on my phone keep telling me about the eclipse to happen on Saturday! It's Sunday, Google!!! boy are they behind the times!
