When My DH cleaned out the garage he brought this old footstool for me to use for my back pain. At first I thought I'd run to the store & get upholstery material to cover it but then it occurred to me this was a perfect opportunity to use my stash & practice piecework.

Foot stool needs help!

Now I don't want to put the tacks in it to attach it! I'm considering using Velcro.

That's a good idea (Velcro), but I think gold tacks would be good too!I also like the pattern you used!

Great use of scraps!!!

You could apply elastice around the edges so the cover could be slipped on and off with out leaving any tack holes.

Yes, even those "thingies" these use to hold sheets on that go across the corners underneath Hubby and you did a great job

I used the method of sewing around a square then cutting a x to get the HST's, &used glue sticks to get the points to match. I was very disappointed in the red bleeding 'cause it's the fabric that I used on DFIL's memory quilt. I guess that I wont put a white binding on it.

Great idea....I think I'd use the elastic or sheet clips.

Very nice. The velcro is a great idea then you could take it off and wash it when necessary.

I was thinking about cleaning. It already seems to collect dog & cat hair. :D
I also just cringe at the thought of the holes that the tacks would create in my work, although I do think that the gold tacks are pretty.
