Exclamation email notice

Hi
Just wondering why this message was in my email notifications:

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications
until you visit the forum again.

When I have been visiting the site on a regular basis I check it in the early morning.

Don't understand. Pleas explain!

I'm sure it is. We don't need to be told 50 times that 50 replies came in, right? Then once you go check the replies, if more come in, you'll get the same notification.

I thought we would only get one notification when replies were posted until we visited the thread. Why do I get 10 + for the same thread prior to visiting the thread? It fills up my email very quickly. Is there a way to change this? Now when I subscribe to a thread I have been clicking on control panel only.
