Question I am just wondering........

When I get up in the morning, I get dressed and head over to the computer to check my mail and read the Quilting Board. Why do I get re-runs every single morning. I click on anything and I read it already yesterday. Really, if I read something once, I don't have to read it again unless I want to and then I can find it in the Message Board. Can't you have the new stuff today and then let us find what was yesterday's news or items or information? Most of us are way too busy with this, that and the other to go through everything all over again. I am one that doesn't chew my cabbage twice and once I have read it, bookmarked it, printed it, whatever, I am done with it! (Until I need it!)

Can anything be done about that and is there anyone else that feels the same as I do, or am I the only one on the planet??????

Minnesota State Fair starts tomorrow. We get #1 Grandson for the day, daughter in law and #1 granddaughter are already there getting the goats settled in and ready for judging and admiration of the fairgoers!

I use the Archive to read new posts.
Look at the almost-bottom of this page.
You will see a dark strip and 'Archive' is there.
Click on that and you'll get all the topics and the newest topics are at the top.
Once on the Archive page, you can get a list of all the other sarchived sections of the board by clicking on "Quilting Board" at the top of the page.
Hope that helps you.

I do the same as Ranger. But you can always sign on and on the home page to the right is a blue oval that says Recent Topics. If the thread is still blue, you haven't read it yet. But you can still miss threads this way as this method only brings up the most replied to threads. That's why I use the Archive method as I can read Everything posted!

I feel the same way and to add to that I must be on a different time zone or something because by the time I read something it already has two or three comments.

lilybeck, click on "Settings" at the top of this page.
On the side, scroll down until you see "General Settings" and click on it.
When the page opens, scroll down again until you get to "Time and Zone Settings".
You can set your time zone there.

You may be seeing a cached version when you open the computer. First thing click the Refresh button. I always go to "What's New" to see the latest.

Good ideas about changing my time zone. I am on DST now and think the board is on Pacific time. They are two hours behind me.

Also , when people post fabrics they are selling ; they show up 2 days later and the fabrics have been picked through already. Why is there such a delay in reaching me? I am in the Central time zone.

if you rely on the link that starts you from those emails you will never see most of what's available here.

The first and most important thing to remember is that the emails are not the board.
They are only a link to a page under the Resources tab that lists a smattering of thread links.
they are not necessarily the newest threads.
They barely scratch the surface of all that's available here.

You never need those emails to connect to the board.
Just come straight to http://www.quiltingboard.com

If you like starting with the sample list of links, go to the Resources tab.
Make sure to keep exploring, though, so you don't miss any of the good stuff. :-)

The easiest way to see the newest threads is to use the Archive (link at bottom of page)
after that you can use the "What's New" link to see a list of threads that have new comments added recently.

as already recommended, to be sure you have access to everything, start at the Home tab.
