Default PM issues

Here's what I learned this morning.... I think it's right....Admin correct me if there's a better way.

You can set up a few more 'folders' in your inbox...like an email site does.

Click on Notifications/Inbox then look at the left side under My Messages. Click EditFolders. Add new named folders. I made one for MISC2SAVE

Now to move PMs.
Back to Notifications/Inbox. Put a check in the PM you want to move. click Selected Messages. Check Move to Folder. Click Proceed. Pick folder (use arrow if necessary). Click Move Item. TaDa!

I believe we can only have 500 PMs total. After you save the ones you want to save, you can delete the rest in a couple of clicks.
Go to Notifications/Inbox. Scroll down towards the middle Folder Controls area. Click Empty Folder. It'll ask you again if you really want to delete all. Click Yes, if you want to delete all.

Hope this is right, easiest way and works for you.

Thanks, that info is great, but I still want to know how to delete more than 50 at a time.  Anyone know?

Editted to say, never mind....I figured it out. When you get to your PM boxes, scroll down to Edit Folders on the left hand side.
When you click on that.....your folders will show on the right side. Click on "Sent messages", then "Empty folder", then "Yes" to delete permanently. Do the same for your Inbox. Be sure to download all as text into Notepad if you want to keep the information though.

Default PM's

There is a "quick reply" box at the bottom, or there is also a "Reply" just after the PM. Scroll down. :-)

OK, I got a message that I need to delete PM's. I followed your directions and created a folder to put the ones I want to keep, but can't figure out how to move them there. You say to click 'selected messages' but I can't find that. where is it ? I feel real stupid right now. Not loving this new site

I have bunches of PMs over the last week regarding some fabrics I sold. I can't seem to find the member name of the person who I sent messages too. I see the member name of people who have PMd me.

do you know what I mean? I'm trying to find messages sent to a certain member with what she wanted, what I had left and how much the payment was to be. Even looking thru all of them doesn't tell me who the member is that I'm looking for.

yikes.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

The recommended download for Private Messages is csv, if you do not have Excel, try using the text option.
