Default Can't send PM's -- too long? Huh?

For some reason the last few days, I can't get any PM's to go. I keep getting an error message, saying it's too long. Which is weird. I know I've sent longer ones than the one I was trying to send. Plus, every time I get the error message, it has a different number (i.e: Your message is 6352 & the limit is 5000 / Your message is 7453 & the limit is 5000, etc). Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like your computer is acting up, just read your other post about no browse button, also. Have your cleaned out temp files and cookies lately? Do you have the latest version of your browser installed? Have you updated java & flash lately? And when all else fails, you can always use this link and contact the person who might know the exact fix for the problem: http://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-help...s-t121169.html

the limit is 5000 characters for private messages. if you need to send something longer i recommend asking for the other member's email address.

Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions & that link. Yes, I've deleted & scanned & uploaded & the whole 9(actually, I'm pretty goo about doing that anyway). I had a trojan a little while ago & things just haven't been the same since then (even tho all my various clean-up software says it's long gone). I think I'll give the link a try. THANK YOU!!!

i've noticed, if i delete the previous parts of the conversation in the message box, i can then write a longer response. most times i just start a new p.m. good luck!

I have the same problem but in reverse, my error message says post to short need at least 10 characters. Wellllllllllllllllllllll usually mine are several lines long, I think that would qualilfy for 10 characters. I think the board must be screwed up, we all cannot have computer problems that would cause this. I get errors in other areas of the board. I have checked rechecked my computer and followed directions to a T when trying to correct the error.
