What's with all the old posts

For the last few days I've seen lots of posts from 2007! So many that I have to go through several pages just to get to the current posts.

I see comments are being made on these old posts which bring them to the front, but just little one or two words.

Is there a reason for this? Am I missing something? Confused!

Edit: I should mention it seems to be on the pictures page only.

yes, that's boring. someone must be searching old stuff and replying for them to come up now. I started reading the dates and wont' click on those anymore. been there, seen that!!!

At first I thought maybe it was a troll. But guess not.

haven't seen them. I have my settings set to thread start time, rather than latest post. Works great.

Prism99 09-28-2012 08:18 AM

If you use the "archive" feature on the board (bottom of the page), you can look at just the newly started threads. That's all I use anymore.

someone replys to older posts, that is what is happening. they search and reply. but they are several from 2007. now, i just ignore those!

This same question was asked by Joyce888 last week. The old pictures are nice, but you can tell some of the posters didn't look at the date the thread was started by the comments they make. It seems like a lot of them were resurrected by the same few people. I wonder if it's a QB Facebook thing. I always double check the date now.

we keep all the old posts specifically so they'll be available to new members.
old members like to reminisce, too, or search out things they remember and want to review or try.

there's nothing wrong with it.
quilts are timeless.
so are most questions and advice.

2007 quilt pictures

Why is the website recycling 2007 quilt postings on the 2012 current pages?

fleurdelisquilts.com 09-28-2012 07:47 PM

Maybe someone is looking at them and replying? That would bring them to the top, I'd think. I haven't even been a member that long! Which begs the question (for me, at least) how long has this board been around?

Good question...imsure alot of us are wonderig thesame thing

shawnan 09-28-2012 07:58 PM

From doing a little research on when people joined, it has been around since November 2006.

EasyPeezy 09-28-2012 08:46 PM

I thought we were not supposed to bump old threads/topics for no particular reason.
Have the rules changed?

Bluelady 09-28-2012 08:50 PM

Is making a comment on an old thread always considered bumping? at what age/date are we to not comment on a thread?

Grandma Jane 09-28-2012 09:00 PM

If you use the Advanced Search you can sort by the most recent Thread Start Date - Descending Order - then you won't see the old ones

rebeljane 09-28-2012 11:41 PM

Someone trying to boost their posts?

this is a non-issue.

nivosum 09-29-2012 08:47 PM

Picture page has old posts on it.

On the Picture page I was seeing a lot of 2007 quilt picture posts. They are gone, but now there are a lot of 2008 quilt picture posts mixed in with the 2012 picture posts.

katesnanna 09-29-2012 08:53 PM

My girlfriend told me about this the other day. She said it looks like someone went all the way back to the start and has made a comment on most of them. Whenever anyone comments on a post it brings it up to the front again with that persons comment.

please consider this: complaining about it might make new members feel unwelcome.
