Welcome to the Quilting Board!

Why do we have Visitor Message capability? What is the intent?
Cathy
don't ask me.
i don't get it, either. LOL
i suspect it's another one of those trends made popular by social networking sites.
which we are not. LOL
members can turn off that feature by going to Settings.
the specific setting is under General Settings.
I Quilt, I Nap, I Quilt Some More ... Aaaaah, The Good Life!
I also have an eddres you can use if you need to contact me with questions or suggestions that relate to our community: patricej@quiltingboard.com
my opinion is that it is a way for non-members to communicate with a member since the non-member does not have access to PM

Nancy, I don't think so. I found the setting (thanks, Patrice!)
There, it says "This forum features a visitor messaging system that allows members to send messages to one another publicly. If you do not want to receive visitor messages, you may disable the visitor messaging system."
So, it's not for non-members, but it's a Public Message (as opposed to a Private Message). I think it's not very useful.
