Well, Cindy, the only penance for this transgression of your moratorium promise is ----------get in the sewing room and start using it up!!!

YAY for me! Finished this jelly roll race top this afternoon - all from stash and have a wide back that is perfect for it, also in the stash! If this keeps up, I'm gonna have to buy thread - but I made NO promise about a thread moratorium!

Wow, paulswalia & IrishRose, wonderful quilts! I'm jealous of your accomplishments already this year. I'm sitting here looking at my tree. Ornaments are off, but need to take it apart and get it downstairs. We were both down with the flu for a week, so that put me behind.
I got thru the new catalogs without buying anything, but this Thursday will be the real test. My montly LQS's club meeting... they MAKE YOU walk right by the markdown area to get to the classroom. I'll just have to strengthen my resolve. Wish me luck!

Ha! We put up our tree and strung the lights on it but didn't put a single ornament on it this year!!! Didn't even put the tree skirt on it. Took it down last week.

PaperPrincess - carry in with you a good sized shopping bag already FULL of fabric that came from your stash and keep it right by your side. Pet it if you feel anxious, listen to it purr and that way your hands will be full and you won't be able to pick up anymore fabric from the sale table. And no, I won't believe that some new fabric just FELL into your bags on the way by...........

I'm in too. My problem is DH is planning on retiring the beginning of next year. On one hand I think I need to use up this fabric before we move on the other hand I think, I need to buy more because there won't be money for it after he retires. Such a dilema.

I'm in. I went to my LQS's preview party last weekend and bought around 3 yards of Moda's Sunkissed. I already have the fabric for the rest of the quilt, so what I bought was just to have enough to make the pattern I want. It was in their sale room, so I know it most likely won't be there next time I go shopping. I am committed to not buying any fabric this year unless it is to finish something I already have the fabric for. So far I've made it 2 weeks!

Hey everyone, This is supposed to be fun, right. Let's not make it other than that. I too, am going to try and use from my stash every chance I can but if I need something for a backing or more batting or one FQ of a color to make a mug rug, I won't feel guilty. Hope you don't either. We aren't going to stop quilting at end of the year. I think the whole point of this is to try to use what we have first but if there is a sale and something you really can't live without, and it is a good price..I say get it within reason, of course. With fabric prices being what they are, if I found a sale on FQ's at .50cents each, I would grab some fast....moratorium or not. Any of you want to kick me off? LOL!
