2013 Fabric Moratorium

if you're in bali getting batiks, i could use some blues and some yellows, please! oh, heck any color would be great! i'll pay postage!!
i think if we get/buy fabric from someone who is ON vacation then the vacation exemption should be in force ! i took an overnight and bought fleece for 99cents a yard to make dog/cat shelter beds. and some doll size buttons. since it was a sleepover, and away from home, i think it should count as a vacation, don't you??

I would love to take a Bali trip, yes just to see the factories and buy. I really think I would have paid the luggage fee and bought another suitcase. Is it at all possible to post pictures. I'll get a towel so I don't drool all over myself.

emma, there's a quilt tour company that goes to bali! wish i could go too, but dh thinks we should have enough money to retire instead. what the heck, there are plenty of bridges and cardboard boxes! if we move south i can even share quilts with my neighbors in the box down the row. doesn't get tooo cold! we had kids, isn't that our retirement plan?
my sister lived in singapore and often invited us to join them in bali for a vacay. sure, housing $5 a night. flights for 5, $5000. yup, housing is very affordable!!! lol, never could make it happen.

Nancia: You make it sound like a great idea, except the part about under the bridges. I think the having kids part isn't kids and retirement it's kids or retirement. Well thinking about Bali is still fun!

Thanks for the help. Just to be safe I got 3 yards. lol I decided to use the same fabric to make a DP9 for my BIL - his 60th is coming up and he is a bald eagle fan. So I can justify the purchase. It will all get used up having to fussy cut.

First and I hope only purchase for June was 3 yards of Iowa shop hop fabric yesterday. Just a bit of the colored fabric left in a kit; bought the gray/black color--once it's gone it's gone.....so had to buy.

well, i just rec'd word that i won the bid on a shopgoodwill.com item. this is the same site where i bought my featherweight. this time i have bought a red and white quilt that requires restoration. it will be fun to research it and try to get a working date. it is in indiana and will soon be shipped to me. i don't think this should count toward my moratorium since it is already a quilt, right? i will post pics when it arrives and as it gets restored! i'm excited!!

Moratorium, what moratorium, we don't need no stinin moratorium. Love seeing and hearing about the purchases. Martina, think you made a really wise decision, if two is good three is better. OKsew, love the fabric, your right that is ssure to be a collectors item. Nancia, show us pictures when it arrives. This is one of my favorite threads but I'm not sure it's for the right reasons.

you know, i think this brings out the 'bad girl' in each of us. ( in my case she's standing next to the thin girl that wants to get out) lol. no wonder i'm overweight! there's at least 3 women in this body! divide my weight by 3 and they are all seriously underweight! i knew that was my problem so i'm eating for 3!
now, let's remember we all came here to manage our fabric addiction. i am trying very hard not to buy anything--also, dh has told me i'm shut-off until further notice (around 2020, i think). i have so much to play with and i spend all my time looking at patterns and reading qb posts! no wonder i get nothing done!! my performance may be poor, but my intentions are genuine! i really DO want to stop buying!
