I have been really good about not buying fabric until........ Some friends and I challenged each other to learn each others favorite past time, or at least try it. I now must learn to hand quilt (I have two left thumbs LOL), make a soft sculpture doll, and do something with wool applique. So while at Sew Expo I got my supply's, 1 wool kit (not one piece of wool in stash), fabric for doll body, got extra cause I know I will need to make more than one head (I can't draw faces). I was an enabler while there. Helped all 3 of them pick out patterns and fabric for there table runners.

I forgot to join. I know kind of hard to believe specially after my dismal showing at the end of last year but honest it just kind of skipped my mind. In the interest of getting off to a good start I want to declare my intended purchases. I found a Bargello pattern that I fell in love with, long standing member of my bucket list. Decided that I wanted to make it in all solids for my first attempt, even bought a color chart of Bella solids. So I will be making a rather sizeable purchase in the near future, but THATS ALL! Even though its late in the challenge and my performance year to date is best left under a cloak of secrecy, I'm here no and determined.

I only bought a batting for Judy's #8 Mystery Quilt. I did, however, get about 6 grocery bags of scraps/ strips from my two volunteer groups. Now I need to find the time to sort and sew!

Martina: Knew I'd be hearing from you. I admit my total absence of memory of the Moratorium is a LITTLE suspect but I'm arriving with new resolve. Doesn't that get me a few points?

I'd rather give you points for the other. Coming back to the fold is easy.

I was near my favorite quilt shop today. It is like batik heaven there. I talked myself into going home without stopping there. I was about 3 miles away. I am trying to stay out of all shops because I have a hard time leaving without making a purchase. I am still waiting for the kit to come in for a class I am teaching. It is the Gravity quilt by Jaybird quilts. I can't wait to get it. I love the quilt.
Glad to hear we are all doing pretty well. No one is perfect. Keep up the good work everyone.

Everyone is doing so well. Welcome back Emma and anyone else I missed who has joined. I plan to make March a TOTAL no buy month. One month at a time, I can do this. I have been cutting up scraps for a swap my guild is doing and while I sort through my scraps for that, I am tossing a few of the smaller things I think I won't use into a box for another member who wants some smaller scraps for paper piecing. When I feel like I have enough that I can share...you can believe that I have a lot of scraps. I am always thankful that friends give me what they do not want, rather than toss in the trash so I am just passing on the goodness of others. But my point is that as I am going through all the scraps, I can see that I can make enough scrappy quilts to get me through at least two more years of making quilts. So as long as I keep sorting and organizing, I don't think I will be buying any fabric for a while. I am very grateful that I am so blessed to have what I do. I am sure you all feel the same. :-)

My girlfriend and I are having a mini quilt retreat this weekend up at our cottage. Today I'm delving into my stash to cut fabric for at least 2 quilts. Very excited for the weekend, as I haven't seen her in a couple of years.
