Congratulations on your new machine! Let us know when she arrives and what name you are going to give her.

It is rather boring when no one has been falling off the wagon but guess that was the whole point of this thread. LOL! I am leaning toward making more backings with flannel, fleece, etc which I have none of so eventually, there will have to be purchases made. Calla, welcome back. Hope you have caught up on all the posts by now. Emma, you are right about the spring weather. I have a small flowerbed that is going to get a complete makeover. Just need the weather to be a tad bit warmer. So that will definitely cut into my quilting time. And like you Emma, I think I will need to live a long, long time to use up all I have. My problem is I have lots of scraps from friends and they can all be used in some way. Just a matter of using them. Woo Hoo! Bet you can hardly wait for your new acquisition to be delivered. We want to hear how it sews and anything else. Martina, as to the water soluble stabilizer, can you roll it up and put in in a paper towel tube with a plastic sack over it? Rhonda Lee, please tell us about the SLC quilt show when you get back. Perhaps next year, I can plan on going but company at my house this year at that time.

Martina: Forgot to comment on your stabilizer incident. Thought you might benefit from my experience, I can sum it up in a sentence, "Don't take your stabilizer to the pool". LOL

Thanks for the tip, Emma. That has little to no chance of happening. 1. We don't have a pool. 2. The thought of me in a bathing suit is more than anyone should handle, so in the interest of community health, I stay dressed and dry along with my stabilizer. lol

All right..wet noodle time....I didn't stay as strong as I should have on the shop hop. I did get fabric for a gift for my B and SIL, I needed the right caramel color. But then I added to the stash..almost 10 yards...Admittedly I did refrain from several pieces of sale fabrics...my reasoning is this will help keep my stash fresh and current......

Emma, is there a real story behind not taking the stablizer to the pool? Did you actually do that once, or are you making a funny? Lol. If you did can we have the long story version please. I feel it could make for a good laugh.

I have not gone shopping since last buying on internet. (A few weeks ago). I been working on the swoons quilt along (using only my scraps). Put together 2 baby quilts, need quilting. And finished making my floral blocks, now I just need to put the quilt together this week. All from my stash.

Yes just like a lot of you members, my stash has taken over my sewing room and space in other rooms (living room and downstairs). I'm rearranging and organizing. Trying to get it in two places and make it easy to access.

happyalb, your question reminds me of the first time I used wash-away thread. Out of habit I kept licking it to thread the needle. It finally dawned on me that I ate a good portion of it and still didn't have the needle threaded. lol

Martina - I can just picture the wash away thread incident. Thanks for the laugh!

Everyone seems to be staying strong but if you fell off the wagon just jump back on.

I've done pretty good in the fabric department. Had to buy a blue Christmas tree panel from Northcott as I opened my mouth and told my three grown sons I would make them one each thinking I had three of them. Went looking in my stash and I must not have bought the blue one so had to order one.

oksewglad - the reasoning of keeping your stash current seem reasonable to me
