I'm getting better at resisting impulse fabric purchases. A little bit here and there adds up, and I end up with material I may not actually use for a year or more. On the upside, all those little fabric purchases I pass up on means more I can put toward a planned project I'm excited about.

Martina- love your quilt. The frogs are so cute!
Pegasus - you're right about the impulse fabric purchase. But in my case I would like to save up for a new sewing machine.

Hey, it's May 4th and I have not purchased fabric this month. Didn't last month either! Wow, a couple of years ago I would not of thought this possible. Thanks everyone for helping me. You all rock!

I'll have to remember to keep the light on when the stash drawer is full from now on. Thanks the for tip, lol.

I'm on attempt 3 with the nametag project. I just watched the "Y" seam video so wish me luck. I'd rather use up the stash on doing a number of projects rather than the same project a number of times.

Also I started on the first Asian Block for the Mt Fuji 3 panel set. It's the pine tree and hopefully will be easy. I'm basting 1/2 inch from the edge so that when I needle turn I'll have exactly 1/4" turn under and the shape should be the same as the template. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

Paper Princess, those shoes and purses are so cute. What great work. I'm so impressed.

Martina, that is the cutest frog quilt. I love the border. It's just perfect.

I haven't purchased a thing, I've had opportunities to stop and shop, but I haven't been in the mood to even look, so I've passed by the shops. I also haven't sewn a thing. I've been sick with a cold and it's a doozy, so I'd rather just sleep. I still have all the fabric cut and ready to be sewn, but just don't have the gumption to do it. One of these days I will. Until then, I'm coming home from work, sitting down to read for a bit and falling asleep.

I had a $100 visa card that came with my sewing machine and I decided to spend it on quilty stuff. However, instead of ordering fabric, I ordered quilting stencils. Did I just open another can of worms?

No, no, no, Heavens no. One thing at a time right? And it is the fabric moratorium right?

Everyone is doing so well. I turn the light off in my sewing room at night so I blame it on the full moon once a month that shines in and makes the scraps multiply. Love the froggy quilt and Paper Princess, the bags and little shoes are fabulous. What lucky people to have you as their gift maker. I have been sorting scraps, ironing and cutting into various sizes so as to be able to find things easier. I told DH that going through scraps is one way of making me KNOW that I do not need more fabric right now.

The good news is that I do not have many stencils and the ones I ordered have multiple designs on them. I don't think there's a one-trick-pony in the batch.
