Thanks.

No, I left them hooked together so-to-speak.

I fell off the wagon and let it drag me a bit One of our best local quilt shops is going out of business as the owner is retiring. I have been avoiding going but decided to check it out since it hit 40% off. Found the 60 degree ruler I have been wanting, added some orange fat quarters to those I have been collecting for my nephews quilt. Got some seahawk fabric for a rag quilt some neutrals since I don't have many of those and added to my patriotic collection that I will be using on my next quilt. Still not so bad its the first fabric I have bought in about five plus months I shall call it my mothers day present to myself lol.

Mad quilter, I like the swirly blocks. I'm 1/3 the way through making my ak crossroad quilt. I'm using my scraps or stash and birthday candy squares from the birthday swap. This year we are doing QALs to use up some of our candy. I have 3 rolls sewn together. Here's a few blocks from the 3 rolls. This is the project from the birthday candy swap QAL. We should have another QAL soon. All are welcome to follow along when we start the next QAL. Here's pic.

Altairss, sad to see another shop go out of business but why not snag some goodies I say!

Happylab, that is a great-looking scrappy. Nice pattern

Altairss, sounds like you exercised some restraint! Happy Lab, looks like you've made a happy quilt! Today, I'm starting to get ready for a quilt retreat in a week Just me & my girlfriend at the cottage for a couple days. Trying to get ahead of the curve and cutting enough for 3 Christmas quilts. All 3 patterns use 2.5" strips + neutral yardage. I'm thinking I'll organize a bit and make one of the quilts as an ender & leader project while piecing the other 2.

Happy birthday Martina.
Happylab that's one good looking scrappy! I envy people's ability at scrap quilts as I'm so impaired in that department.
Paperprincess what fun to have a get away just to quilt and be with friend. I hope you have a great time.

Happylab: Love that scrappy! So cheerful and it looks like it uses most everything. Do you have to sign up for the QAL? Looks like a great way to use up the overages.

Paper princess: Green with envy over your retreat....Hope you have a great time sewing and enjoying yourself!

qutrSue, the QAL is free and you just lurk in or comment as you QAL. It's the birthday candy swap. no signing up is required for doing the QALs. Most projects uses some 2 1/2" squares with scraps and stash for these projects. I'll let you know when the next one begins. It should be some time soon.

Thanks elly.

I am participating in a Boomerang swap on a different forum. Just cut my fabric - ready to mail it out. Can't wait to see what comes back. Even though I get finished blocks back, it feels like I get rid of some stash.

i just gained a fair amount of stash because of a project that didn't go the way I had planned. I'll have to go back through the thread to see how much actual fabric I gained. But on a good note i think i may have found a place for the challenge wall hanging. It is unique enough I think to be put in the charity quilt auction that one of our long armers puts on every year for the hospital.
