Bit of a slide from the wagon. I ordered a backing for a quilt but I didn't stop there and bought 5 yards of three different fabrics. In fact I ordered more stash fabric than backing oops.

Elly66- I slid off of the wagon too! Unfortunately, it was a long way to the bottom but I couldn't pass up great deals at Hancock Fabric! I'm just so sad for the employees and the customers that frequented Hancock Fabrics.

I'm back on the wagon now but with all of the cottons that I bought, I didn't think of looking for one that could be used for sashing strips in my HST Challenge quilt. . Now I will have to go shopping again.

Thanks for the chuckle Connie. I realized I could have been looking for a fabric I could have actually used immediately instead of fabric that will go in the stash also. I'm telling myself to only get the fabric needed. Hopefully the next time I won't loose that battle
I was near a Hancock several weeks ago and that store was already closed. I was disappointed until I remembered my game plan of fabric purchases and tried to tell myself it was just as well (for my goals). Hate to see them close but the prices would be hard to resist. I would be so far off the wagon that no one could see me if I actually lived near one.

I get to report that I used some stash and scraps. Finished my Row by Row and was thrilled that I only purchased two out of the eight rows. I did not have space fabric for the first row and I did not have barn type fabric and their row is intense so purchased their kit which equals about 1/2 yard of fabric in. Good news is the rest is all from my stash and scraps I have. Even the border is from left overs of project that I finished about 14 years ago. The backing is rock fabric that I had as well. Every home needs a rock foundation. LOL

The other side of that is I won 25 fat quarters. Have a pattern from Judi Madsen's book already picked out for it. Now to get it made and quilted. That will be after customer quilts, boom block quilt and a lone star.

I'm pretty sure that winning fabric doesn't count as falling off the wagon LOL! Love your row by row quilt, fantastic job on using mainly stash fabrics!

Quiltermomma, that row quilt is adorable. Quilt holders aren't shabby either.

I am sewing Boomerang blocks to send back to their original peeps. We start with a F8 and I make it a challenge to sew 2 blocks for everyone instead of the required one. That way just a wee bit of my stash leaves my house and I have no leftover pieces of other people's fabrics to content with. Each one just leaves me bits for the scrap bucket and that goes to my friend Joanne.

JA had a 60% off coupon on fabric, and I could have used it to get some Kona, but I didn't. Without a project in mind, it would've sat unused for ages or been an excuse to buy yet more fabric to go with it. You can sure go broke saving money!
